I moved to the Outer Banks in the early 90's when I was employed as a commercial lender. After thirty years of that I co-founded an online news site, the Outer Banks Voice, which became the dominant news source in the region. We recently sold the Voice and I now teach full time at a local community college and plan to publish a few websites!
Just about anything OBX that strikes my fancy. But this time it's not for profit, so no advertisements or customers to please. Politics? Maybe some, but if so, it will more often concern broader issues, even some national observations since our economy here is greatly affected by state and federal policy. I teach economics and government so it's hard for me to keep quiet on the subject.
Hey! We live on a beach and in an area where food, wine, water sports and nature rule. So while they'll be some serious stuff (see panel to the left) the main focus will be on my experiences as a resident and what I like to do when I'm not on the sandbar, as we call our barrier island.
